0:00There's all sorts of evidence that if you don't have a lot of fiber, your microbiome is not healthy.
0:05Feed your microbes, you know, they need to be fed.
0:07And what they eat is fiber.
0:09Okay, that's what you want them eating.
0:10You want them eating fiber.
0:12And if you're not feeding them fiber, they'll eat your mucus layer.
0:15Okay.
0:15And we already talked about how thin that barrier is.
0:17And all of a sudden they start eating your mucus layer.
0:20They're not producing the butyrate you need and the butyrate's needed to maintain the tight junctions.
0:24So there's layers to this.
0:26It's like a snowball effect that if you're not feeding those microbiome and keeping it healthy, you're going to run into all sorts of trouble.
