0:00The most shocking part of the story of the USS Liberty, the American ship bombed by the Israeli government back during the Six-Day War in 1967, is not simply the facts of the case: 34 Americans murdered by the Israelis, 171 wounded, bombed, strafe with machine gun fire, etc.

0:23government, beginning with the then president Lyndon Johnson, covered it up, prevented the survivors from talking about it, prevented the public from knowing that it even happened.

0:35American officials still refuse to talk about what happened to the U.S.
0:39Citizen, by and large, with some exceptions.
0:42So that's the part of the story that really makes you wonder what is going on here.
0:47It's one thing for a foreign country, foreign government to murder your citizens.
0:51That does happen.
0:54But the idea that your own government would take the side of the foreign nation as it murders your people, the people your government is in charge of caring for, that is really stunning.
