0:00You have said that your career is built on a lie.
0:02Yeah.
0:03What's the lie?
0:04The lies that can read people's minds.
0:06You can't?
0:07I can't.
0:08I wish I could.
0:09Okay.
0:10Why does what you do work then if you can't read people's minds?
0:14Well, because I'm giving the illusion of reading people's minds, right?
0:17That's the skill.
0:18That's really crafting a narrative which in your mind plays out in such a way, kind of like the way a magic trick works, but the contract is different with the audience.
0:27Because most of us, when we watch a magic trick, since we've been young and we kind of first experience magic, we know that what's happening isn't real.
0:36De facto, the bird that appeared didn't really appear out of nowhere.
0:39The person doing this isn't God.
0:41They didn't cut a woman in half for real because you can't actually put her back together, right?
0:46Science has established what can and can't be done within reason.
0:50That's what we believe.
0:51So you can always look and see and say, well, there's a gimmick.
0:55There's a trick.
0:55There's a way that it's being done.
0:57And the funny part about what I do, it's called mentalism.
